Core i5-9600K vs Core i7-7700 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-9600K is faster than the Core i7-7700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-7700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-9600K has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i7-7700 has 4 cores. Despite this, the Core i7-7700 has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9600K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-7700. Also, the Core i5-9600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-7700 outputs less heat than Core i5-9600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-9600K has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-7700. The Core i5-9600K also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
