Core i5-9600K vs Core i7-1265U comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1265U is faster than the Core i5-9600K. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1265U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-9600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-9600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1265U. Despite this, the Core i7-1265U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1265U outputs less heat than Core i5-9600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-1265U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-9600K. The Core i7-1265U also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
