Core i5-9600K vs Core i5-13420H comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-13420H is faster than the Core i5-9600K. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-13420H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-9600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-13420H. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-13420H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-9600K. The Core i5-13420H also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
