Core i5-9600K vs Core i5-1335U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-1335U beats the Core i5-9600K in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1335U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-9600K that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-9600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-1335U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-1335U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9600K. The Core i5-1335U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
