Core i5-9600 vs Core Ultra 9 288V benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-9600 performs better than the Core Ultra 9 288V. Despite this, the Core Ultra 9 288V has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core Ultra 9 288V has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-9600 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 9 288V has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-9600. Also, the Core Ultra 9 288V has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core Ultra 9 288V has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-9600. The Core Ultra 9 288V also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
