In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-1345U has significantly more cores than the Core i5-9600. Indeed, the Core i5-1345U has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-9600. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9600 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1345U. Despite this, the Core i5-1345U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-1345U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9600. The Core i5-1345U also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
