Core i5-9400T vs Xeon E5-2620 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-9400T performs better than the Xeon E5-2620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2620 in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-2620 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2620 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9400T. Despite this, the Core i5-9400T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9400T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
