Core i5-9400T vs FX-9370 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-9400T beats the FX-9370 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9370 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-9400T has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the FX-9370 that has 4 cores. Despite this, the FX-9370 has more threads than the Core i5-9400T. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9370 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-9400T. A Core i5-9400T CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9370 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-9370 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9400T. Despite this, the Core i5-9400T has slightly more L3 cache compared to the FX-9370.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
