Core i5-9400F vs Xeon E5-2630 v4 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-9400F is faster than the Xeon E5-2630 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2630 v4 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has significantly more cores than the Core i5-9400F. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-9400F. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9400F. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9400F has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2630 v4. Also, the Core i5-9400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9400F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2630 v4 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9400F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
