Core i5-9400F vs Ryzen 5 4500 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 4500 is faster than the Core i5-9400F. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-9400F in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 5 4500 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9400F. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 4500 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-9400F. Despite this, the Core i5-9400F has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4500.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9400F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
