Core i5-9400F vs Core i7-1355U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1355U is faster than the Core i5-9400F. Despite this, the Core i5-9400F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-9400F that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9400F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-9400F has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1355U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-9400F. The Core i7-1355U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9400F has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
