Core i5-9400 vs Core Ultra 5 125U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-9400 is faster than the Core Ultra 5 125U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core Ultra 5 125U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core Ultra 5 125U has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i5-9400 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9400. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 5 125U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-9400. Also, the Core Ultra 5 125U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core Ultra 5 125U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-9400. The Core Ultra 5 125U also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
