Core i5-8600K vs Core i7-1355U comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-8600K is faster than the Core i7-1355U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1355U in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-8600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-8600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-1355U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-8600K. The Core i7-1355U also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-8600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
