Core i5-8600 vs Core i7-9850H comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9850H performs better than the Core i5-8600. Despite this, the Core i5-8600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-9850H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-8600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9850H. Despite this, the Core i7-9850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-9850H outputs less heat than Core i5-8600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-9850H also has slightly more L3 cache.
