Core i5-8600 vs Core i7-10875H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10875H beats the Core i5-8600 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8600 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-10875H has slightly more cores than the Core i5-8600. Indeed, the Core i7-10875H has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-8600. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8600. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-8600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10875H. Despite this, the Core i7-10875H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-10875H outputs less heat than Core i5-8600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-10875H has more L2 cache than the Core i5-8600. The Core i7-10875H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-8600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
