Core i5-8500T vs Core i7-1355U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1355U beats the Core i5-8500T in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-8500T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1355U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-8500T that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8500T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-8500T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1355U. Despite this, the Core i7-1355U has a much higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1355U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8500T. The Core i7-1355U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
