Core i5-8500T vs Core i5-9300H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-9300H beats the Core i5-8500T in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-8500T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-8500T has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-9300H that has 4 cores. Despite this, the Core i5-9300H has more threads than the Core i5-8500T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-9300H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-8500T. Also, the Core i5-9300H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8500T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-9300H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
