Core i5-8500T vs Core i5-8300H specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-8500T performs better than the Core i5-8300H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8300H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-8500T has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-8300H has 4 cores. Despite this, the Core i5-8300H has more threads than the Core i5-8500T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-8300H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-8500T. Also, the Core i5-8300H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8500T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-8300H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-8500T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8300H. Despite this, the Core i5-8300H has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-8500T.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
