Core i5-8400T vs FX-9590 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-9590 is faster than the Core i5-8400T. Despite this, the Core i5-8400T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-8400T has significantly more cores than the FX-9590. Indeed, the Core i5-8400T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the FX-9590. Despite this, the FX-9590 has more threads than the Core i5-8400T. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9590 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8400T. Also, the FX-9590 has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8400T CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9590 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-9590 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-8400T. Despite this, the Core i5-8400T has slightly more L3 cache compared to the FX-9590.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
