Core i5-8400T vs FX-9370 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-9370 performs better than the Core i5-8400T. Despite this, the Core i5-8400T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-8400T has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-9370 has 4 cores. Despite this, the FX-9370 has more threads than the Core i5-8400T. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9370 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8400T. Also, the FX-9370 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8400T CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9370 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-9370 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8400T. Despite this, the Core i5-8400T has slightly more L3 cache compared to the FX-9370.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
