Core i5-8400 vs Ryzen 5 5500H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5500H beats the Core i5-8400 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8400 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-8400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5500H that has 4 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5500H has more threads than the Core i5-8400. These CPUs have different clock speeds.
