Core i5-8400 vs Core i7-10750H benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10750H is faster than the Core i5-8400. Despite this, the Core i5-8400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-10750H has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-8400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-10750H. Despite this, the Core i7-10750H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-10750H outputs less heat than Core i5-8400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-10750H also has slightly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-8400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
