Core i5-8300H vs Ryzen 7 8845HS benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 8845HS is faster than the Core i5-8300H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8300H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 8845HS has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-8300H has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8300H. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 8845HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8300H. Also, the Ryzen 7 8845HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 8845HS has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8300H. The Ryzen 7 8845HS also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-8300H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
