Core i5-8300H vs Core i9-12900HX benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-12900HX performs better than the Core i5-8300H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8300H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-12900HX has significantly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i5-8300H has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8300H. Both the Core i5-8300H and Core i9-12900HX have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core i9-12900HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8300H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-12900HX CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i9-12900HX has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8300H. The Core i9-12900HX also has significantly more L3 cache.
