Core i5-8265U vs FX-8320E benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8320E is faster than the Core i5-8265U. Despite this, the Core i5-8265U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8320E has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8265U. A Core i5-8265U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8320E has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8265U. The FX-8320E also has slightly more L3 cache.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-8265U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
