Core i5-7600K vs Xeon E5-2680 v2 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2680 v2 performs better than the Core i5-7600K. Despite this, the Core i5-7600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2680 v2 has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-7600K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2680 v2. Also, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2680 v2 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
