Core i5-7600K vs Xeon E5-2640 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7600K is faster than the Xeon E5-2640. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2640 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2640 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-7600K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2640. Also, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2640 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different.
