Core i5-7600K vs Xeon E5-1620 v4 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7600K is faster than the Xeon E5-1620 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1620 v4 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E5-1620 v4 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-1620 v4. Also, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
