Core i5-7600K vs Xeon E3-1245 v3 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7600K is faster than the Xeon E3-1245 v3. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1245 v3 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E3-1245 v3 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1245 v3. Also, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1245 v3 outputs less heat than Core i5-7600K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
