Core i5-7600K vs Ryzen 5 5500H specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 5500H performs better than the Core i5-7600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7600K in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 5 5500H has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 5500H. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 5500H outputs less heat than Core i5-7600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5500H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7600K. The Ryzen 5 5500H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
