Core i5-7600K vs Core i7-11700K benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-11700K beats the Core i5-7600K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7600K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-11700K has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-7600K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-11700K. Despite this, the Core i7-11700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600K CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-11700K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-11700K has more L2 cache than the Core i5-7600K. The Core i7-11700K also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
