Core i5-7600K vs Core i7-10700K benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10700K beats the Core i5-7600K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7600K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-10700K has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-7600K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600K. In terms of clock speed, the Core i5-7600K and Core i7-10700K are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Core i7-10700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7600K CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-10700K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-10700K has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7600K. The Core i7-10700K also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-7600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
