Core i5-7600 vs Xeon E3-1270 V2 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-7600 performs better than the Xeon E3-1270 V2. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1270 V2 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E3-1270 V2 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E3-1270 V2 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-7600. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E3-1270 V2 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
