Core i5-7600 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U performs better than the Core i5-7600. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U. Also, the Core i5-7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U outputs less heat than Core i5-7600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7600. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
