Core i5-7600 vs Core i7-7700 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-7700 is faster than the Core i5-7600. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7600 in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-7700 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-7600. Also, the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-7700 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
