Core i5-7600 vs Core i3-N305 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i3-N305 beats the Core i5-7600 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i3-N305 has significantly more cores than the Core i5-7600. Indeed, the Core i3-N305 has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-7600. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7600. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7600 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-N305. Also, the Core i5-7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-N305 outputs less heat than Core i5-7600 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i3-N305 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-7600. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
