Core i5-760 vs FX-4300 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-760 is faster than the FX-4300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-4300 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-760 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the FX-4300 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-4300 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-760. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-4300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-760. Despite this, the Core i5-760 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-4300.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-760 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
