Core i5-760 vs A10-6700 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-760 performs better than the A10-6700. Despite this, the A10-6700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-6700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-760. Also, the A10-6700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The A10-6700 outputs less heat than Core i5-760 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the A10-6700 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-760

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-760 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
