Core i5-7500T vs Core i7-8850H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-8850H is faster than the Core i5-7500T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7500T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-8850H has significantly more cores than the Core i5-7500T. Indeed, the Core i7-8850H has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-7500T. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7500T. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-7500T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7500T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8850H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-8850H has more L2 cache than the Core i5-7500T. The Core i7-8850H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
