Core i5-7500 vs Xeon E5-1650 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1650 beats the Core i5-7500 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7500 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-1650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-7500 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7500. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-7500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-1650. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i5-7500 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1650 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
