Core i5-7500 vs Core i5-8259U comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-7500 beats the Core i5-8259U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8259U in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i5-8259U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-7500 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-8259U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i5-8259U outputs less heat than Core i5-7500 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
