Core i5-7500 vs Core i3-1115G4 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-7500 beats the Core i3-1115G4 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1115G4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-7500 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-1115G4 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1115G4. Despite this, the Core i3-1115G4 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1115G4 outputs less heat than Core i5-7500 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-1115G4 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7500. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
