Core i5-7400T vs Ryzen 7 5700X specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X is faster than the Core i5-7400T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7400T in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 5700X has significantly more cores than the Core i5-7400T. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-7400T. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7400T. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-7400T. Also, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7400T CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 5700X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7400T. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
