Core i5-7400T vs Core i3-1005G1 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i3-1005G1 beats the Core i5-7400T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7400T in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-7400T has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-1005G1 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-7400T has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1005G1. Despite this, the Core i3-1005G1 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1005G1 outputs less heat than Core i5-7400T thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-7400T has more L2 cache than the Core i3-1005G1. The Core i5-7400T also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7400T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
