Core i5-7400 vs Phenom II X6 1100T specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7400 is faster than the Phenom II X6 1100T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Phenom II X6 1100T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Phenom II X6 1100T has significantly more cores than the Core i5-7400. Indeed, the Phenom II X6 1100T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-7400. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7400. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Phenom II X6 1100T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-7400. In terms of cache, the Phenom II X6 1100T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7400. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
