Core i5-7300HQ vs Xeon E5-430 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-430 is faster than the Core i5-7300HQ. Despite this, the Core i5-7300HQ has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-430 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-7300HQ. A Core i5-7300HQ CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-430 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon E5-430 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7300HQ
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7300HQ has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
