Core i5-7300HQ vs Core i3-9100F benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-9100F performs better than the Core i5-7300HQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7300HQ in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-9100F has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-7300HQ. Also, the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7300HQ CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-9100F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-7300HQ has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
