Core i5-7300HQ vs Core i3-1005G1 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7300HQ is faster than the Core i3-1005G1. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1005G1 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-7300HQ has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-1005G1 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7300HQ has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1005G1. Also, the Core i5-7300HQ has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1005G1 outputs less heat than Core i5-7300HQ thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-7300HQ has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-1005G1. The Core i5-7300HQ also has significantly more L3 cache.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-7300HQ has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
