Core i5-6600T vs Xeon X5650 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6600T is faster than the Xeon X5650. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5650 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-6600T that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-6600T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-6600T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5650. Also, the Core i5-6600T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6600T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5650 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6600T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
