Core i5-6600K vs Xeon E5-620 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6600K is faster than the Xeon E5-620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-620 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E5-620 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-6600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-620. Also, the Core i5-6600K has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E5-620 outputs less heat than Core i5-6600K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-6600K has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-620. The Core i5-6600K also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
